Naish pulls out - Penetrator removed from the net!

The Penetrator - by Robby Naish.
Naish played one of the best April Fools pranks in stand up paddling history this week, proving that the big boss Mr Naish is still a teenager at heart. But only a couple of days later the video was removed with no explanation from Naish – could this board really be the future?

Chances are it’s not, because the board was shaped like a giant yellow, well, you-know-what…

It also didn’t really turn on a wave, and surely can’t be that effective through the water with such a wide nose. That didn’t stop thousands of stand up paddlers stopping whatever they were doing to wonder if it was real or not. Naish Stand Up Paddling social media accounts lit up with responses expressing their interest in the shape, although of course those comments were littered with praise for the hilarious April Fools day prank.

While the fun was short lived, we did manage to find these few pictures taken from the clip which will do the job. You’d have to be extremely innocent not to notice the uncanny resemblance.

Of course it’s not the first board shaped like this, you might remember last year’s efforts by Paul Fisher, where he terrorized the 2014 Quiksilver Pro (including Kelly Slater!) with a

' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>hilariously shaped shortboard. We’d imagine it won’t be the last either, with the subject being a constant talking point in today's grommie culture.

What we really want to know, is how they made the thing! It looks like the tail off an old Javelin, with some extra bits of foam epoxied on and then repainted in the classic Naish yellow. Or maybe, some poor shaper at the Naish factory was handed a piece of paper with the outline on it, and tasked to build such a unique creation especially for Mr Robby Naish himself.

The obvious question now is, where is it! Who’s garage houses this one-of-a-kind stand up paddle board?
