Naish is getting all corrugated with their SUPs this year.

That's a whole lot of channels right there...
There's several theories on the purpose of this intriguing bottom shape, but only the Naish guys know exactly why it's there and what it does. Some say the hex concave (thats six concaves) resembles corrugated iron, "So if you're sitting under it on a rainy day the water will run off it better than if it was flat" says David John (who knows everything Naish).
Pete Webb (Cuttlefish) had a pretty good story: "Apparently there's been some pretty big earthquakes in Thailand lately. I heard there was a partial roof collapse in the Cobra factory while they were bagging this new batch of Nalus.
Roofing sheets landed on them and the factory manager figured...what the hell...no need for selling them as seconds, Bung a Naish logo on them and tell everyone we meant it."
While that might seem a little far fetched, those who've been around surfboards since the 80's have seen this bottom shape before. The 'Clunker' styled surfboards were great in glassy conditions, but terrible in choppy water - and it was because of this, they faded into the retro collections and relative obscurity. Could this Naish be a stand up paddle board for flat water only?
It won't be long before we know for sure - but until then, check out the rest of the pictures in the forums.
