Matt Hayden (cricket fame) hits SUP

Matt Hayden's spent a day Stand up Paddling in Noosa this week, to help promote Queensland tourism. Who's Matt Hayden? He's a (retired) cricketer, they call him 'Matt the bat' and he's pretty famous around these parts.

Tourism Queensland has launched a new website called Operation Sunshine, which was initially launched to raise awareness about Queensland and give the devistated tourism industry a boost after the natural disasters that stuffed everything up this year. Matt's here filming short videos and writing about his trip on the Operation Sunshine Facebook page, where any local business can also post their own videos or info.

As for the Stand up Paddling, Matt remembers catching prawns on the Noosa river when he was a kid - but his local knowledge didn't help too much, apparently he fell a few times when passing boats put out a bit of wash. He loved the paddle though, commenting "I love the sunshine coast, today was a real privilege."
