Local boy steps up Brazil

The fourth leg of the Stand Up Paddle World tour saw legendary Hawaiiain waterman Kai Lenny finish up in second which, once a discard was allowed, sees him slip into the lead in this year's SUP World rankings.

Overall winner of the event was local boy Leco Salazaar who knew what to look for on his own turf and made some excellent wave selections.  The event took part in heavy double overhead surf - not perfect by any stretch of the imagination - but with plenty of power and some challenging sections which enabled the world's best to show how the sport of Stand Up Paddlesurfing has progressed and is becoming such a radical discipline.

There is now only one event remaining on the tour which takes place 19-27 October at Ocean Beach, California, and Kai Lenny and Peyo Lizarazu - the two guys who have been having it out all season - seem likely to take things down to the wire.
