Laguna Bay SUP Racing at Noosa - Results and Recap.

Battling it out on the way in.
This years Noosa Festival of Surfing kicked off this weekend with the Laguna Bay Longboards Stand Up Paddle Race. At First Point, Noosa - the SUP Race took place before the opening ceremony on Sunday. For the second year running, the race showcases the growing discipline of Stand Up Paddle racing around Australia before the iconic festival began.

Athletes battled it out through the 1-2 foot swell for the title, with Kelly narrowly edging out Travis and Paul Jackson for the win. The girls heats were a little more light hearted, with one photographer saying "the girls raced with a smile and the boys were more serious." In between the smiles - Holmes, Angie and Jenny Ryan crossed the line in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the surfing events taking place over the week and next weekend, despite many big names being absent from the competition. Already the Noosa Festival of surfing is looking massive, and it's only Monday! Remember to get down there any time you can this week and check out what's going on!
