The 2012 AWSI awards are for the Association of Wind and Surf Industries to recognise not only the best athletes in their chosen discipline, but also the most innovative manufacturers and retailers around America. While it might not be of the greatest interest to us Aussie stand up paddlers, we still get to reap the benefits of these awards!

To win the title of the AWSI Stand Up Paddler of the year, each paddler must submit an entry online to be judged by their peers. Several of the big names in paddling have already put their hand up to be counted, with some incredible entries. The best part is that all these video's are full of the juicy bits. With only 90 seconds to strut their stuff, you won't see any substandard riding here, just the best of the best snapshots which have been collected and saved by these paddlers for years.

The awards are presented on the 7th of September, and if you happen to be anywhere near Orlando, Florida at the time, head on down for some free beer, food and famous faces.
