How to rescue someone with your stand up paddle board
Use the flip technique to get an unconscious

person onto your board.
The flip rescue technique is one that's particularly useful when all you have is an unconscious person, a stand up paddle board and you need to get them back to the beach. Because SUP boards are so buoyant, trying to pull someone up onto one (that's sitting right side up) is difficult to say the least.
But by flipping the board upside down, grabbing the persons hands and pulling them onto the inverted board. You can then use your own body weight to flip the board over, in turn, leaving the patient laying sideways on top of your board. From there, grab their legs, spin them around so they're laying on the board, then lay down behind them and paddle into shore. You can also use the technique for people who are having trouble swimming, panicking or suffering from severe cramping. Sound complicated? It's much easier to get your head around when you see it on the video.
Check it out and even give it a practice with your mates at the beach. You never know, it might save someones life some day.
