Event poster released for 32nd Merimbula SUP Classic

The 'Dirty Second', it's going to be awesome.
It's the 'Dirty Second' Merimbula Classic this year, and yet again the MSC (Merimbula Sailboard Club) has come up with the goods for the event poster. Dirty Second... Like 32nd? Get it? It's a beauty, and so is the event!

The Merimbula Classic, formerly known as 'Mambo' is a culmination of kitesurfing, windsurfing and stand up paddling on one tiny beach on the south NSW coast. In it's 32nd year, the competition is sure to have Stand Up Paddlers from all over Australia turning up. Add to that great seabreezes, world famous after parties and the biggest range of demo and display equipment on show - the 2012 Merimbula classic is shaping up to be the biggest Stand Up Paddle event in Australia (yet again).

Have a good look at the poster, at first glance it has nothing to do with Stand Up Paddling, windsurfing or kiteboarding. But a second look reveals the masterpiece that it really is. Artist Stan Squire is a local to Merimbula, and every year his posters are quite simply a sight to behold. Have a third look, there's some comedy gold in there!

"This year will mark 32 years of the best sailing/kiting/paddling event in the world!Kite surfers, wave sailors and stand up paddlers will be converging on Merimbula to celebrate the start of the summer season with much merriment and action, both on and off the water. Why don't you come and join us.

The buzz is that the boys and girls from all around Australia, and across the world, are getting themselves revved up for another big one. And it will be big.. on offer this year is a holiday on Nomotu Island Fiji courtesy of Scottie O'Connor. A multitude of other goodies are going to be added to the prize pool from our wonderful generous sponsors."
