Big swell predicted for the QLD State SUP titles.

There's a whopper of a swell forecast
at the end of this week.
This long weekend there's going to be some epic stories from the Gold Coast when the QLD state SUP titles take place in conjunction with the Surfing QLD SUP and Ocean Paddle Festival.

With Seabreeze.com.au forecasting a huge swell on Wednesday, combined a lengthening wave period and improving weather, this weekend is set to be absolutely massive, in scope and in swell height! Competitors are a buzz with excitement and many are wary of the conditions. Surfers will be fine in 8-10 foot swell if the beaches can handle it, but the racers on 12'6" boards might do it a little tougher in the downwind races.

There's events planned over the whole weekend, with the racing style events on the Saturday and surf contests on the Sunday. After suffering a run of small waves in recent QLD state titles, the swell could bring some new faces out of the woodwork, or just consolidate those who frequent the podium like Jackson Close and Justin Holland. Last years winner Keahi De Aboitiz won't be around due to his kitesurfing commitments, but no matter what it's sure to be a big event.
