Australian Stand Up Paddling team announced for the worlds

Last years team have set the standard pretty high!
Like every year, there's controversy in the ranks after Surfing Australia announced their selections for the Australian paddling team for the ISA 2013 competitions.

The full list is below, and it's certainly packed with some serious names! However some are still saying that a few very important names are missing from the list. Names like Jackson Close were missing and that's ruffled a few feathers. So has the inclusion of young up and comer Lincoln Dews. His relatively unknown status makes him an interesting choice by Surfing Australia, but we're sure they've got their reasons! We'll just have to wait and see if the young man can deliver when the season hots up.

Starting in only a few months, the team better get training! The titles will be held in Miraflores from 24th February to 2nd March, and play host to 20 countries and more than 100 paddlers.

Again headlining the team is Jamie Mitchell. Earlier in the week saying:

“The team looks really strong again, We have a few new faces in the team and a lot of our existing team from last year so that should make for a great blend of experience, youth and enthusiasm.

I definitely think that all the countries will be looking to put forward their best team possible. I know Hawaii will compete as a team this year and they will have a super strong team. As always USA will have a great team and other countries like South Africa, France, Mexico and New Zealand will definitely be stronger than last year so it will be a very tough competition and we will have to be at our best to defend our title.”

On the other hand, poor Dogman, he seemed very upset that he wasn't picked as mascot. Saying (in his usual slang):

"I'm more pisst than all of yas put together......which is soooo wrong in so many ways it isn't even funny
i didn't even get picked to be the team mascott! That is sooo wrong!!!!!!!! As i trained so hard this year for the top dog job."

Must be hard old mate. Australia feels for you, but we're stoked for the rest of the guys who were picked! Australia will be leading the charge for sure when it comes time to compete this next year!
