Jamie Mitchell and Angie Jackson smashed it in the long distance race, edging out the new kid on the block, Casper Steinfath from Denmark in the mens and Olivia Piana from France in the womens. It was a clean sweep in the prone paddling too thanks to Brad Gaul and Jordan Mercer, who've both been well up the leaderboards for the last few years.
Since Jamie Mitchell made the switch from paddleboarding a few years ago, the 10 time Molokai to Oahu champion barely skipped a beat in terms of his podium finishes. They talked about his 'decade of dominance'... But the guy is still going strong a few years later, so who knows how far he's going to take it! Jamie Mitchell continutes to stand atop the podium
at event after event... Last year he won the world championships as well, leading his team mate Travis Grant through the long distance racing. This year Travis wasn't in the running, but Paul Jackon put on a good show with a fourth, and Kelly Margets taking fifth place for his first world championship appearance.
Of course racing wasn't the only thing happening at the worlds in Peru, stay tuned later in the week for all those results and event reports as the happen! Or keep up to date with the LIVE updates from the ISA on Facebook.
