An ultimate party wave - Oil Tanker SUPing with C4 Watermen

What's better than a 2 foot party wave on a stand up paddle board? A two foot party wave that goes on, and on; and on for hundreds of meters!

Over in Texas, USA - the team from C4 watermen went in search of a boat, a giant red oil tanker to be exact, which just happens to put out a massive wake when combined with a certain shaped ocean floor. The result isn't a perfect, sparkling freight train of a wave - but it does go on for ever, and that means - PARTY WAVE!!!!!! This oil tanker wake runs for a couple of miles along the edge of the shipping channel in the Gulf of Mexico, off the city of Galveston. It's not the first time it's been surfed, it was made famous in the movie 'Step into Liquid' when it was surfed using normal surfboards.

It's great to see the waters around the Gulf of Mexico are finally being used for a bit of fun again, after the catastrophic 'Deepwater Horizon' oil spills of 2010. The team of stand up paddlers all managed to score a few waves, and really got back to the roots of what stand up paddling is all about - having fun with your mates.

Check out their video below, and next time you're out the back - call for a party wave and have a laugh together.
