ASI, the an education and accreditation organisation specialising in surfing, SUP and bodyboarding has released the first ever SUP Surf Judging accreditation.
 
The SUP surf judging accreditation adds to the range of SUP instructor accreditation levels and learn to SUP standards that have been developed by ASI.
 
Woogie Marsh, elite SUP racer and SUP surfing competitor was one of many consulted in the SUP industry to help develop the judging accreditation. 
 
SUP surfing is a specialised and unique sport, says Woogie.   "We need judges with specific SUP surfing skill and knowledge.  Otherwise, it’s not possible to fully recognise the talent and skill of the elite SUP competitors.   This judging course is a positive for the SUP industry and reaffirms that SUP is its own sport not some add on to other sports."
 
ASI is working with SUP Australia to develop education and accreditation SUP standards.
 
The SUP Surf Judging course details:
NSW, The Entrance, Central Coast
21 October 2011
9 am to 1 pm
Cost $70
 
The course is held the day before the Mystic NSW SUP surfing titles on 22-23 October.   Course participants are able to complete their practical hours judging at the event.
