24hr Stand Up Paddle marathon for Charity

Stand up paddlers from the Gold Coast will unite this weekend to raise much needed funds for the Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal. Legends of Stand up Paddling - Jamie and Justin Mitchell, along with Paul Jackson of Roar Industries have organised the 24 hour paddle which will take place in Currumbin Creek from midday, Saturday 5th February. Entrants will take turns paddling a shift during a 24 hour marathon, running back and forth between the Gold Coast Highway and Thrower Drive, Currumbin.

Teams are encouraged to enter, plus the creek caters for all skill levels, so if you've got spare hour or two this weekend - head down to Currumbin and either have a paddle, or encourage someone else.
Each stand up paddler is asked to donate $25, which will all go to the Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal, adding to the current $184 million already donated by Australians.  During the night there will be flood lighting and a BBQ provided; plus rescue boats and first aid equipment, just in case it gets a little sharky during the night.
