The powerful Hobart ocean racing yacht Auch returned to competition on the River Derwent last Sunday, under new ownership and with a distinctly different crew to those who sailed her in the last Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Skippered by Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania sailing manager and Tasmanian Sailing Academy coach, Richard Scarr, Auch had a crew of some of Tasmania's most promising young dinghy sailors, all looking ahead to eventually becoming big boat racing crew, perhaps even competing in a Sydney Hobart.
