Scott and Vicki Millar continue to express their catamaran sailing experience to set the pace in the 2008 Whitsunday Sailing Club Multihull class championship.

The husband and wife sailing team generally share the steering roles with Vicki being equally successful in helming the former Australian Multihull champion and dual Brisbane to Gladstone race winner Rum Raider to her impressive race results.

Over the past ten months they have collectively claimed four major races and six minor results on the Whitsunday Island passage race courses to hold a 21 point lead while Bob Thompson's Sirocco and Graham Mathews steering Brandy Creek Ferry continue with their close duel for the minor places after Full Monty was 'dry-docked' to allow skipper Leo Rodregius to concentrate on his Rolex Sydney Hobart Race preparations with the Volvo 60 Merit.

However Rum Raider remains as the star performer and is in strong contention to win the Bavaria and Summer Series titles which will cap off a very successful year for the catamaran's talented helming team.

This consistent form compiled over ten very demanding months of intense racing in a varied range of wind and sea conditions suggest Scott and Vicki Millar will again be the front runners to add the Two Handed championship title to what has proved to be a very successful year of racing on the spray drenched trampoline of Rum Raider.

The Rum Raider racing team are perfectly suited to master this challenge where Vicki will steer while Scott will face a heavy workload making sure the catamaran reaches her maximum speed potential to outpace her handicap rating.
While the Millar's have generally dominated the Multihull division racing for the Division 2 (Monohull) title has become a nightmare for club commodore Kevin Fogarty after the former Club champion Idle Time was extensively damaged in the rogue Northerly blow in February.

But finally the Idle Time crew can look to a positive result after they and skipper Kevin Fogarty took control of the points in the Whitsunday Escape Trophy in tricky winds on Pioneer Bay last week.

Idle Time only needs to remain consistent during the trophy decider this week to clinch a popular win over Sunrise (Jeff Shipsey) and Craig Piccinelli's Wobbly Boot.

All three radically different designed yachts have a chance to win the series with Idle Time entering the final as a sentimental favourite with a narrow 1.5 penalty point margin leaving skipper Kevin Fogarty to remain tactically cautious to make sure that a defensive wind shadow is cast over Sunrise and Wobbly Boot to claim is second Twilight Sprint Race trophy win since the storm hit in February.
