Wagga Wagga's Lake Albert closed to boaters this long weekend

NSW Maritime has issued an exclusive use licence to the Wagga Wagga Sailing Club for the use of Lake Albert in Wagga Wagga for the long weekend 2011 NSW Paper Tiger Catamaran Championships.

NSW Maritime Regional Manager Murray/Inland Scott Kidd said that on Saturday 1 October, Sunday 2 October and Monday 3 October between 9am and 6pm each day, an exclusive area would apply for use only by those taking part in the championships.

'In the interests of safety, the area will be closed to all vessels not taking part in the championships,' Mr Kidd said.

'No unauthorised vessels are permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by event organisers, a NSW Maritime Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.'
