Argo Group Gold Cup is the seventh and penultimate stage of the World Match Racing Tour and is being held between 4th and 9th of October at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.
Coming off their victory in St Moritz last month, The Wave Muscat are looking to continue their assault on the WMRT this week in Bermuda for the last stage of the Tour before the finals are held in Malaysia at the end of November.
A disappointing start to the year has put Torvar Mirsky's team, The Wave Muscat on the back foot coming into the closing stages of the season, but their late form has given them everything to play for. Only six points now separate The Wave Muscat from the current leader Ian Williams and his GAC Team Pindar, who have put forward a strong challenge this season, winning two events in a row earlier this year.
With the same team that started out the year in Marseilles, The Wave Muscat have their sights firmly set on closing down the gap for the final stage in Malaysia, but some team members are going to Bermuda with more to fight for than the others.
'I can't wait to get the band back together. It was a great experience for me on the AC45's' said Graeme Spence after his America's Cup World Series debut in Plymouth last month 'but with the team getting their first 2011 win in St Moritz without me, I have a bit to prove. I know the guys have all been busy with their other teams, but all of us are eager to give this our best, and fingers crossed we can go into the Monsoon Cup in a strong position.'
