WA Optimist State Championships title to Gilmour

South of Perth Yacht Club hosted 82 Optimist sailors predominantly from Western Australia at the WA Optimist State Championships held over the long weekend. The sailors were divided into three fleets with the Gold and Silver fleets completing 14 races over the three days in even conditions. 2011 State Champion is Lachlan Gilmour with Sam Blackburn in second and Fieke Koelemij third. The Most Improved WA Sailor Award went to Portia Knight whilst Hillarys Yacht Club sailor, Marcus Fisk from won the Silver Fleet. Top year awards went to Ezra Kaye (8 years and under), Elliot Young (9 year olds) ...
