As the owner of the recently launched 'Bristolian II' from Yachting Developments found, the visual solutions that Urban Voyage provided allowed him to visualize and understand his new yacht, during its development and build, from the comfort of his own home.
Not setting foot once in New Zealand during the course of the build, the Superyacht Owner relied on Urban Voyage's talents to convey his expectations to the shipyard.
'We are taking visuals and applying them, as a construction tool, for the benefit of all stakeholders. This process is totally unique and provides the owner with significant confidence in communicating his design expectations to the builder,' says Richard Elliott, Managing Director.
Such is the confidence in Urban Voyage's visual solutions for design and communication, that American Icon boat builder 'Lazzara Yachts' turned to them to assist in the development process of bringing their latest LSX concept to market.
Working with conceptual models and drawings allowed Urban Voyage to integrate ideas and communicate Lazzara's vision into a visual prototype beyond what Lazzara could achieve in their own offices.
The visual prototype was utilized to target their marketing in the presales phases and was also developed across marketing materials for the recent public grand launch.
Richard states: 'The outcome is clear. Boating is about passion, and the ability to communicate passion is something that only those who have it can achieve. Lazzara could have gone to anyone in the world, but they appointed us to communicate their passion.'
The stunning images and animations produced look as if a vessel had actually been built and photographed at some of the world's most exotic locations, however were in-fact entirely digitally produced in Urban Voyage's offices just off K-rd in Auckland.
The benefits realized were cost effectively bringing the vessel from the conceptual phase to market faster, and eliminating the need for physical prototypes to be produced and sent on location - which can often be time consuming and hugely expensive for builders.
Urban Voyage's expertise in visuals has recently taken several steps further than just stunning static imagery. The company is now working with 3D interactive documents that allow the users to interact, manipulate and explore a vessel like never before.
'Imagine being able to not just look at a picture of a boat in a brochure, but to be able to see it from different angles and really feel the essence of its design. If a picture is worth a thousand words, what we are able to now do is worth more than a thousand pictures,' says Richard.
