Torvar Mirsky trains with Ian Williams in Sweden

Torvar Mirsky has been training with WRMT leader Ian Williams in preparation for Match Cup Sweden. After a forgetable time in Korea, Mirsky is focusing on the next Tour event which commences today in Marstrand, Sweden.

'With a result that we would prefer to forget about in Korea, and a chance to rectify ourselves in Match Cup Sweden, we are wasting no time in getting ourselves prepared for the task at hand.

'We are training once again with our usual sparring partner Ian Williams and his Team Pindar. After a long time negotiating the Swedish roads, the training has gone well, with the intensity from both teams high in preparation for the tough task ahead. With the line-up in Match Cup Sweden being the toughest we have faced, we are placing a stronger emphasis on our preparation than usual, both on and off the water.

'Match Cup Sweden is boasting a field full of match racing superstars, including the likes of Ben Ainslie, Jes Gram Hansen, and Peter Gilmour. Last year's winner Bjorn Hansen will also be present to defend his title after winning convincingly over fellow Swede Magnus Holmburg in last year's final.

'The event also holds a strong reputation for having a large following, with the event organisers estimating roughly 100,000 spectators to watch from the holiday island of Martstrand over the coming week.

'It will be another good chance for us to watch and learn from some of the sailing heavyweights, and a chance to improve on our recent World Tour performances. Either way, it will be an exciting atmosphere to be a part over the next week.'
