11:37 AM Sun 12 Apr 2009 GMT After a long, uneventful day, the 21st Three Peaks Race packed in a lot of action between 5pm and 6pm. this afternoon
The first boat, Neil Buckby Motors Subaru, set off on the race's final sailing leg to Hobart after runners Mark Guy and Tim Piper completed another blistering run.
The pair clocked four hours 22 minutes on the 35km course over the Hazards range, just 10 minutes outside the long-standing record.
Six boats arrived in Coles Bay within 45 minutes of each other, two crossing the finish line at exactly the same time.
Team Whistler docked at 5.18pm, a welcome occurrence for veteran runner Jacqui Guy, who was glad to be on land 'to get some relief from rowing'.
Next, main racing catamaran BWR Multihulls and fully-crewed monohull Haphazard fought it out to the finish line, but BWR's ability to use alternate propulsion (oars) saw it dock first by a minute and offload Ian Frankze and John Kent.
Sullivan's Cove Whisky came in two minutes after Haphazard and Pisces, which sailed up from the back of the fleet in new breeze, was ten minutes behind them. Catamaran Peccadillo dropped its runners off just before 6pm.
The runners from leading monohull Tas Marine Construction are on their way back to Coles Bay, having reached the summit at 6.25pm.
