#26 Team Konrad plans for future.

>The new British-based #26 Team Konrad outfit have said they're already accelerating their plans for 2009 after an impressive first weekend in the championship as a wild card entry in last weekend's Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea. The SuperSport team is set to race again in next weekend's season finale in Portimao, Portugal.

The crew of team owner and pilot Daniel Cramphorn, throttleman Kim Collins and navigator Barry Keen showed their early promise by finishing second in Friday's PowerPole session. They then ran as high as third in Saturday's Sprint race, despite starting the race with a 15-second wild card delay behind the other boats.

'It was tricky water in Vigo,' said Cramphorn. 'Because the rules meant we had to have a delayed start, we obviously had to work our way through the wakes and past a lot of boats, but this is more than we could have hoped for in our first weekend. We've certainly learnt a lot about our boat, ourselves and how Powerboat P1 works, and we have had a great time. The boat is set up for big water, so we're hoping for rougher seas on Portugal and we can do an even better job.'

Post-weekend boost for #46 Spirit of Portomaso.

The father and son team in the #46 Spirit Of Portomaso SuperSport boat scored third place in VigoThe father and son SuperSport team of Benjamin and Robbe van Riet in the #46 Spirit Of Portomaso boat received an unexpected boost to their Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea weekend in the aftermath of the event that promoted them to third place in the Sprint results on Saturday and third place in the overall Grand Prix of the Sea results.

The Belgian-run, Maltese-sponsored outfit benefited from penalties that were applied to the #26 Team Konrad wild card entry that was deemed to be running underweight in the opening race of its debut weekend. This promoted them to third place - their best result of the season - in the race.
