Sydney offshore racing seasons starts tomorrow with the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club's annual race to Lion Island and return. The short ocean race has drawn 51 entries, representing most Sydney yacht clubs. The race is scheduled to get under way from Watson's Bay at 10am, with the big fleet including some of Sydney's leading ocean racers in the two divisions. The race is also the first in the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron's offshore division for the season. Sailing conditions should be excellent, albeit somewhat variable in direction and strength.
