A little over two years ago Gareth Cooke was charging around the planet on a Volvo 70 but after calling time on a sailing career that included two Volvo Ocean Races he started Subzero Images in 2007.

The aim was to create a niche photo agency that specialised in marine photography. 'Our first year in business has been fantastic, better than expected,' says Cooke.

'We have international photographers contributing images to Subzero and we recently completed our biggest assignment to date which was two photographers in Malaysia for three weeks shooting the Monsoon Cup and qualifying regattas.'

Other international clients have included Aviva, Virbac Paprec, and Ecover.

Based in Auckland, Subzero Images has quickly established itself in the marine photography industry and has a growing reputation for the quality of product and service delivered to clients.
