10:35 PM Wed 31 Dec 2008 GMT The 2009 entertainment program has been revealed and is set to feature varied themes. The first theme will be World Music Day with music inspired from various countries around the globe. The second theme will be Live N' Local Day which will see local up and coming Geelong bands perform. Lastly on Australia Day the entertainment will be anything and everything with the 'Australiana' theme.
Over 60 live acts will adorn three waterfront stages over three days of non stop entertainment, with acts to include Bomba, Abby Skye, Rory Ellis, Tiffany Eckhardt, The Rustys, Peter Chapman, Ella Thompson, Missing Hours, Josh Owen, Lloyd Spiegel, Jimmy Cupples and much more.
There will also be plenty to keep the kids amused with special guest PO from Kung Fu Panda making an appearance and other equally exciting roving performers. The team from Swing Patrol will also offer a Swing dancing demonstration in Steampacket Gardens. Plus on Monday the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony will be staged and Mike Brady of 'Up there Cazaly' fame will sing the National Anthem.
The Shoreside component of the event will get underway on Saturday 24th through until Monday 26th January and entry is free.
In addition to the entertainment there will also be art and craft stalls, gourmet food and wine offerings, aerobatic displays including the RAAF Roulettes and Pip Borrman of Edge Aerobatics plus free Skandia 'Come Try Sailing' activity and the thrilling K-Rock Starshow fireworks spectacular.
