Southport Yacht Club's Yalumba Sail Paradise series goes into its final day of competition tomorrow amid a wave of euphoria regarding its future, and on a high note when it comes to the calibre of the competition.

When the more than 300 competitors returned to the dock yesterday after two outstanding windward- leeward races in a freshening north easterly breeze, the consensus was that it was some of the best short course racing they had experienced in a long while.

Queensland offshore yachting legend, Bob 'Sir Robbo' Robinson, continued to dominate the results IRC Division 1 today with his Farr 40, Cracklin' Rosie, scoring a first and second in the two races, and as a consequence is almost certain to finish on top of the podium in that division.

The minor places in this division will be contested by local Gold Coast yachtsman, Matt Percy, with his Beneteau 44.7, Alacrity, and the glamour yacht of the series, Peter Harburg's Grand Prix racer, the 66ft Black Jack.

In IRC Division 2 only one point separates Brisbane yacht, Corum (Geoff Anderson) and Southport Yacht Club entry Whisper Four (John Hall).

Yalumba Sail Paradise has been contested in perfect Sailing conditions and tomorrow's forecast suggests it will be another great day in paradise. The forecast for the 25 nautical mile race along the Gold Coast surf line is for a north easterly wind between 12 and 15 knots.
