Sail Melbourne brings Australia its first gold medal in the Sailing World Cup with Olympic gold medallists Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page winning the 470s in a drama filled final. The 470s was one of the most closely contested classes in the regatta, with Austrian's Matthias Schmid/Florian Reichsteadter, American's Stuart McNay/Graham Biehl and Aussie pairings Malcolm Page/Mathew Belcher and Sam Kivell/Will Ryan all chances to take out the gold medal.
