The Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto, Ontario, is pleased to be hosting a Women's Invitational Match Racing Regatta deemed this year as the Canadian Women's Match Racing Championships.

The event will take place September 5 - 7 2009. Racing is to take place in Sonars. This is an ISAF grade 3 event.

Women's match racing has increased in popularity with it being named an Olympic event for 2012. RCYC's Match Racing Program began in 2008 with a goal of promoting match racing within the club, but also to encourage sailors to take their skills further by competing in local and North American match racing regattas

The 2009 event has confirmed 8 teams competing:
