A message from the new Yachting NSW Board President, Roger Hickman.
'Following our AGM on 5 August 2008 the newly elected Board of Yachting NSW wishes to thank the NSW yachting community for their support and enthusiasm.
Our voluntary yachting community in NSW is clearly in excellent health given the large number of people who were seeking to represent the sport on the Member Advisory Council. The elected Council has a diverse regional spread and represents a wide sailing demographic from dinghies to keel yacht clubs.
I believe the Council will represent the various views within our community very well and encourage everyone to discuss ideas and positions with Council and Board members. We need your active support and contribution.
As many of you know, one of the major priorities for me is to continue to build a cohesive and singular focused relationship with Yachting Australia so that we work closely to streamline and improve the many facets of the administration of the sport.
Meanwhile we watch with enthusiasm as our Australian athletes compete in Beijing over the next few weeks. Of course we especially cheer on the Australian Sailing Team who are inspirational sailors within our community.'
