2009 WA State Team Racing Championships. Royal Perth Yacht Club hosted this increasingly popular event and delivered another excellent regatta.

Eleven teams representing the sprectrum of team racing participants, fought for the title of 2009 WA State Team Racing Champion Team.

Fresh from their victory in the 2009 SunSmart Secondary School Team Racing Championships Shenton College confirmed their place as the premier school holding of challenges from Scotch, CCGS, Rossmoyne and St Hildas to claim a berth in the final four. Whilst the team finished fourth, they did threaten both their finals opponents, taking the best of three series to the final race each time.

In third place was the team from Fremantle Sailing Club just behind last year's winners Tripod from RFBYC in second.

The Champion team for 2009 was from RFBYC and lead by Jasper Warren who continued their hot form from earlier this year where they won the U21 2009 World Team Racing Championships and claimed Silver in the 2009 ISAF World Team Racing Championships.

With the top teams from the championships qualifying to represent WA at the Australian Team Racing Championships at the end of the month, we look forward to more WA team racing success.
