The annual Melbourne Club Marine Sail Boat Show is set to make a spectacular return to Sandringham Yacht Club (SYC) on the weekend of 14-15 November 2009; the first major event to occur at the Club's brand new premises, which will officially open in October.
Hailed as one of the best boutique sail-only shows in the country, the only dedicated sail boat show in Melbourne will feature a new format to go match the new $12.75M clubhouse and waterfront facility.
SYC is expecting approximately 120 exhibitors, and many have already made bookings, so to avoid missing out, it is essential to book quickly for this exciting opportunity to be part of the ground-breaking Show.
The Club Marine Sail Boat Show is totally devoted to sailing fanatics who can take it all in at their leisure at Victoria's largest marina on Melbourne's Bayside waterfront, while enjoying free entertainment as well as great food and beverage outlets - an ideal family outing. | Club Marine Sail Boat Show - Courtesy Sandringham YC |
Easy to get to and just as easy to park - just a short stroll to the Club - the Show is again supported by Club Marine and Bayside City Council. It is expected to attract up to 10,000 visitors, adding to some 2,000 SYC members who will visit the Show over the weekend.
As an added incentive, to celebrate the return of the Show to SYC, admission prices will remain unchanged from previous years: $5 for adults, $2 children and under 8's are free of charge, as are SYC members.
For die-hards and novices alike, a wealth of information with professional advice will be on hand helping visitors with the right products and the activity that suits their interest and lifestyle - all in one location - so don't miss out. There will be something for all who love messing around with boats and for those who are looking at joining the sailing ranks.
Exhibits - On-water, hardstand and off the beach display areas that will accommodate more than 100 individual exhibitor displays from around the country. A full range of monohulls, keelboats, dinghies, catamarans, trailable yachts and more will be on display.
Boat Show Alley - At the new Clubhouse, view more than 60 trade displays, including the latest designs and technical advances such as air conditioning and fridges, engines, life jackets, masts and spars, paint, propellers, ropes and rigging, sails, sailing instruments, toilets, pumps, winches and so much more.
Family Entertainment - Take the family along - there's plenty for all at the including live entertainment, kids entertainment and a wide range of catering options overlooking Port Phillip Bay.
Come Try Sailing - It's free! Always popular and at no cost, the Club Marine SYC Boating Academy is offering all Show visitors the opportunity to go sailing - young and old - it's never too early, or too late! Some of the most talked about offshore sailors began their sailing careers as late as 60 years old, while others were introduced to the sport as five year-olds!
SYC's experienced and friendly staff will take you for your first sail in a safe environment, so come and take pleasure in the thrills of sailing. Not all sailors race, so your first experience could be one that leads you to the joys of cruising, or just sailing on your local waters for fun.
Nautical Art Show - The Artful Dodgers are bringing their Nautical Art Show to the Boat Show displaying more than 50 individual water themed paintings and sculptures
Seafood Festival - A fabulous weekend of food and wine promotions held onsite in the Club's food and beverage outlets, including the restaurant overlooking the harbor and the Boat Show
