The landmark Labrador premises of Northside Marine on the Gold Coast have shut their doors, with no "going out of business sale" or fanfare, just a centralisation to its Brisbane HQ.

After 20 years of continual service in the Marine Industry, Chris Yates, Gold Coast Branch Manager Northside Marine Group, has been bitten by the travel bug and has decided with his partner Nicole Hillman to travel Australia over the next 12 months.

This coincides with the conclusion of the lease that Northside Marine Gold Coast held over the premises in Labrador and will see Northside marine exit the Gold Coast market at the end of August.

"We decided that instead of trying to replace Chris and then train somebody, we would simply close down the Gold Coast operation," says MD Greg Nickers
