'Anthony Nossiter doing his stuff in Race 4 - International Finn Class 2009 Musto Australian Championships'

Anthony Nossiter has every reason to smile, the Olympian sailed his distinctive green 'Ya' to victory in the Finn Class Musto Australian Championships held at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia this week. 'Nocker' posted eight firsts, a second and a third place in the ten race series to cement his position at the top of the Finn class in a 16 boat fleet.
New South Wales competitors secured the top two places with Nick Burford's 'Beefi' coming in second thanks to a win in race nine. Third place went to local South Australian sailor James Paterson and 'Spruce Goose'. Racing was held in ideal conditions for most of the regatta which was held in conjunction with the J24 Nationals.
PRO Malcolm Hughes started the Finn Class races ten minutes after the J24 start, an interval which worked well to separate both fleets for competitors, the CYCSA Duty Crew and volunteers from the Adelaide Sailing Club.
Helen Wilmer and her all-girl crew from the Royal South Australan Yacht Squadron sailed Litigant to a well-deserved PHS victory ahead of another local South Australian entrant Vertigo, skippered by Jamie Goode. Third place on handicap was secured by Anthony Nossiter and Wetty Gripper, another podium finish to add to his OD first.
