Missing Yacht Located - just a little slow
The sailing yacht Paradis, an Mini Transat 6.50, earlier reported missing between Bergen in Norway and Shetland in Scotland, with Helge Stokkstad and Beate Birkeland on board, has just been spotted by an aeroplane participating in the search for the boat.

They are on their way to the finishing line in Lerwick, Shetland. Luckily the worst thing to happen to the 21ft Paradis is that it will be the last boat to finish the Sj?assistanse Shetland Bergen Race in Lerwick.
When the weather deteriorated and wind picked up to force 6 and 7 Thursday evening the coastguard got concerned and Friday morning they started a search operation with assistance from Norway. Later the boat was spotted just 16 nautical miles east of Lerwick. Both sailors are well and sailing towards Lerwick.
The two female sailors on board the Paradis failed to reach Lerwick after all the other yachts had arrived safely on Wednesday.
Shetland Coastguard helicopter Rescue 102 and the Lerwick Lifeboat were launched to search the area out to 30 miles east of the isles, but nothing was found.
They then requested the assistance of a Nimrod aircraft from RAF Kinloss. The Norwegian authorities requested the assistance of a Sea King helicopter and a P3 Orion aircraft.
The last contact made with the Paradis had been at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon, and the weather in the area was force 7 winds gusting to force 8 with rough seas - not exactly 'Paradis'.
