Today was the Hamilton Island Race Week Long Island Race for the Melges 32 fleet.

With low cloud and 15 knots, Anthony Passmore's ' Planit' port gybed the fleet to be first to the Dent Island turning mark. Steve O'Rourke team 'Red Panther' followed closely.

After plenty of tacking up the Island to keep out of the tide, the first to tack to Denmam Island was Planit, followed by Max Star and Panther.

Once around Long Island, the spinnakers were set and boats gybed in close contact.

Max Star, Angus Reid, won the race by a boat length to Planit, then six lengths back to Panther.

Desperado, Noel Leigh-Smith, leads the point score by one point going into tomorrow's last race.
