Manly Hotel St Helena & Multihull Yacht Sales Cups

Brisbane's Wynnum Manly Sailing Club (WMSC) is well prepared for this year's Manly Hotel St Helena Cup and Multihull Yacht Sales Cup. The two events are run concurrently by WMSC, with the Manly Hotel St Helena Cup now in its 32nd year meaning many skippers and crews weren't even born when the first St Helena Cup was run.

The Manly Hotel St Helena Cup and Multihull Yacht Sales Cup is South East Queensland's biggest annual regatta with over 120 yachts of all types competing in teams of three for the major trophies.

The Manly Hotel St Helena Cup trophy is presented by Sandy McDonald of the Manly Hotel, the iconic establishment on the Manly harbour foreshore that has been major sponsor for the last 10 years.

Multihull Yacht Sales Australia are major sponsors of the multihull division, with the Multihull Yacht Sales Cup being presented by proprietor Phil Day. This event also represents one of the major multihull regattas in Queensland.

Other event sponsors include Hood Sails, Muir's Manly Marine, Australiawide Boat Sales, Displaycraft, Marine Photography, Go Boating Magazine and the Brisbane Volunteer Coast Guard.

The Manly Hotel St Helena Cup and the Multihull Yacht Sales Cup are sailed over what is now the most recognised and appreciated course on Moreton Bay, with the famous 'champagne glass' course providing challenges for all levels of crews. Previous years have seen keel yachts, multihulls and trailerables of all sizes travel from clubs as far afield as Hervey Bay and Coffs Harbour. Visiting yachts can reserve free wet berths at the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club marina for at least the Friday and Saturday nights of the regatta.

Skippers wishing to get more information on the 2008 Manly Hotel St Helena Cup or the Multihull Yacht Sales Cup can do so by contacting David Hoban on 0438 269 940 or at hoban(at)bigpond.net.au.

Notice of Race and Entry Forms are available on the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club web site at www.wmyc.org.au. Skippers who are not part of a pre-determined team will be allocated a team by the organising committee.
