MRT misses Quarter Finals at St Moritz

'Mirsky Racing Team - St Moritz Match Race' Loris von Siebenthal
Kinley Fowler reports from the St Moritz Match Cup.

Unfortunately today it was the weather that matched our performance with torrential rainfall bringing with it two more losses. With only one win we missed out on fast tracking to the quarters, and instead have to battle it out tomorrow in the repechage.

We have had a lot of fiery matches, most particularly against our Trans Tasman rivals of Blackmatch Racing today which saw us on the receiving end of yet another penalty. Although this provides a good show for the crowd, it is never a good sign for us. We have always sailed best when we keep the races out of the umpire's hands, so tomorrow its back to basics.

Not much racing was done today with the mountains throwing wind from all directions, not a good thing for us as this time we are on the lower end of a five way tie at the bottom of the table. However tomorrow's forecast is for steadier winds so with any luck we should get through the format.

A special thanks to Line7, Harken and the Royal Perth Yacht Club for their support.
