Louis Vuitton Pacific Series - Alinghi wins first race

Alinghi has won the first first race in the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series Final.

The America's Cup Defender won the start and controlled Emirates Team New Zealand throughout the four leg race sailing in 20kt southwesterly winds.

Emirates Team NZ added to their woes with a slipped spinnaker halyard on the first run, losing some ground to Alinghi, however there were never going to be any passing lanes.

Alinghi had a comfortable win in the end by a margin of about 20 seconds.
