The fleet racing at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week took a breather from the world class on-water competition today as sailors enjoyed time with their families ashore and boats received a thorough going over in preparation for the resumption of racing tomorrow.

With tomorrow's forecast showing SE winds 10-15 knots reaching 15-20 knots, crews will once again have to be on their toes in the moderate to fresh trade winds that have generated some work for the sail makers.

For those taking the Audi Drive Challenge this morning, there was as much tension in the air as there has been on the water with sailors putting pedals to the metal for the chance to own an Audi A4 Avant 1.8 TFSI multitronic.

Those not involved in the Audi Drive Challenge took the morning to go through their checklists of running repairs and maintenance as the series approaches the half way point.

Secret Mens Business 3 owner/skipper Geoff Boettcher sent his crew down to the dock to work on the South Australian Reichel Pugh 47 to make it race ready for tomorrow's short around the islands course.

Just what modifications the crew were making while the boss was lunching at the Lay Day Long Lunch at the Beach House is a secret, but he said by the end of the week 'we will be legends'.

The Performance Grand Prix division will tomorrow sail two windward/leeward races on the Eastern Course starting at 11.30am.

All other divisions are being sent on a round the islands course with the first division, Performance Passage Division 1, off the start line in Dent Passage at 10.45am.
