The Australian Geoffrey Duniam has completed the La Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6.50 onboard Mad Spaniel.

Duniam arrived with a big smile on his face in Bahia in 41st place in the Series class.

Another arrival Olivier Richard commented 'I'm really in Bahia?' on his entrance into the port of Salvador. The tired skipper of Minute crossed the finish line on Wednesday morning.

The awards ceremony of the second stage was held on October 28th and the winners presented with prizes. Ten trophies were awarded; to the top three in each class, as well as to Izabel Pimentel the only Brazilian to have raced and finished the race and one of three other women involved. The trophies represent a sailboat (normal) resting on a stone found only in the region of Bahia, the dumortievita, named after the French geologist, Dumort who discovered it.
The final awards ceremony will be held on Saturday the 5th of December 2009 at the next Nautic of Paris on the stand of the Charente-Maritime.
