Nathan Wilmot and Malcom Page won the Gold medal for Australia in 470s at the Beijing Olympics. They sailed 470s together for 10 years under the guidance of coach Victor Kovalenko, winning three World Championship titles, as well as two seconds and a third. Nathan, coming from an enthusiastic and accomplished sailing family, progressed through the junior classes on Sydney harbour before stepping into his first 470 in 1997.
