Yachting Australia has been approved to host an ISAF International Race Management Seminar in Brisbane from 23 to 25 November 2009. The seminar will be conducted by International Race Officers Marinus Blickman (NED), John Parish (NZ) and David Brookes (AUS).

Candidates who wish to attend this ISAF Race Management seminar should either have been appointed as a national Race Officer or have attended an ISAF clinic, or have proven experience of Race Management at national level. The seminar is open to attendees from other nations and Yachting Australia is expecting interest from countries such as Singapore and New Zealand.

The seminar is being held in conjunction with Yachting Queensland and will be presented at their Brisbane office beside the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. Yachting Queensland has on site accommodation and its own meeting rooms for such a seminar. Attendees should expect the first two days to include tuition running from nine to five with the third day being used for revision and then examination.

The location also brings the added benefit of tying in with the Sail Brisbane event. This creates the opportunity for attendees to act as a Race Officer at the ISAF graded and international Sail Brisbane event being held at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.

The seminar will provide access to the highest level of Race Management education available, as well as the chance to learn from others involved in officiating at this level. Seminar attendance and successful exam results will count toward ISAF Race Manager Accreditation. Application forms will be sent by ISAF automatically to Seminar attendees who meet these requirements. Further requirements and appointment details are stated in the ISAF Yearbook.
