Indian Chief takes Line Honours at LCMR Regatta
The all carbon Grainger 31 foot cat, Indian Chief flexed a bit of muscle at this weekend's APC Logistics Lock Crowther Memorial Regatta. Following on from Friday's Ocean race double of line honours and OMR handicap victory Darren Drew's 31 foot Grainger design cat, Indian Chief has taken the overall regatta line honours victory.

Other than Friday's Ocean race, the following four heats of the regatta were sailed in light variable conditions on Pittwater and Broken Bay.
The four inshore races had four different winners. Indian Chief took the first of the inshore heats.
The other three heat winners were Voodoo Spirit in the second heat by a nose from Indian Chief who was in first place and becalmed at the finish line for some time. Voodoo Spirit got a puff of breeze further back and bought it up to the Chief, but it was to late, Voodoo crossed just in front before the Chief could get going.
The 412 foot Crowther/Bloomfield cat, Quickstep was the winer in the third heat from Indian Chief who had previously been becalmed at Scotland Island. Indian Chief chased Quickstep but ran out of race track once again and it was Quickstep by 20 seconds.
The final race of the regatta was won by the Farrier F28R Summit. The farther and son team of Kurt and Robin Ottawa got off to a great start in the flukey conditions and picked all the right shifts. Indian Chief was back in the middle of fleet after a poor start and in the light conditions was only able to slowly make her way through the fleet and into second place and once again ran out of race track to come in just behind Summit.
All though all the competitors would have enjoyed more wind the regatta was a great success.
