Hamilton Island Race Week - On Tuesday August 23 Cruising 2 was held in their pens. Our crew decided to go to the yacht club for the afternoon and watch the Grand Prix and others finish.

It was great - wonderful silhouettes of sails against a back lit sea. As an artist I looked at a bunch of shots for reference and looking back at them noticed one has a huge horizontal streak of light against the sky.

Because I was shooting from inside the yacht club behind tinted windows I thought - well it's some kind of reflection from inside. Then on closer inspection of the image I realised the streak is behind the mast of the focal yacht.

So - something moving very swiftly? I was using a Lumix 14 megapixel underwater camera.
