The 6th Phuket International Marine Expo is being held in Asia's maritime capital of Phuket 4-7 December at a new and prestigious location, the five Gold Anchor Award winning Royal Phuket Marina in the new Exhibition and Conference centre.

At a Press Conference held at the headquarters of the Tourism Authority Of Thailand in Bangkok on November 12th journalists and TV reporters from Thailand's press were given details of the upcoming event.

The four day international event, organised by Andaman Marine Consultants, attracts exhibitors worldwide to the tropical island and has already expanded its capacity to accommodate more places on the water allowing a total of 40 yachts in Phuket's stunning yacht basin, together with an impressive number of additional boats in the on land display.

Filling 2,500m? of air-conditioned space, the exhibition hall will be buzzing with regular and also first time exhibitors from marine suppliers, yacht brands, the yachting press and the important brokers and dealers within the maritime and yachting industry.

Historically the show attracts over 5,000 visitors every year, making the beautiful island of Phuket a lively hub for sailing and cruising, and confirming its position as one of the first destinations of choice for marine leisure.
With plenty of facilities close by such as sufficient parking, restaurants, clubs and a sports bar all directly within the show area, the Royal Phuket Marina's Town Square and Boardwalk will be a plentiful and sociable setting for the region's best marine expo.

Andaman Marine Consultants Show Director Andy Dowden says: 'There is every indication that this year's PIMEX will be the most successful yet, we are all looking forward to the activities programmed for this spectacular show in this fantastic location which solidifies its position as Thailand's premier boating and lifestyle event.'

PIMEX 2008 is supported by the Tourist Authority of Thailand. The Thailand Conference and Exhibition Bureau are also fully behind the event for the second year running and will assist the organisers in monitoring the numbers of visitors, particularly from overseas.

The Sports Authority of Thailand once again will bring the six major regattas in the Kingdom to the exhibition including of course the largest regatta in Asia, the Phuket Kings Cup which takes place in the same week on the west coat of the island.

Phuket's Kings Cup Regatta is an integral part of Phuket's annual marine showcase and was voted the 'Yachting Event of the Year' for the second year running at the last Christophle Awards.

The Board of Investment and the Thai Marine Business Association will host seminars during the show to outline the business opportunities for investors in the fast growing Marine Leisure sector.
