The Flying Dutchman Fleet in Sydney is in need of crews.

There are four or five crew needed as various people have moved out. Also there are a mixture of used boats that are well priced for a easy entry into the class - www.fd.net.au

With the next world titles in Holland in July/August there are a few skippers looking for crew to ramp up for that event.

At the last world titles in New Zealand 2008-09 the Australians finshed second and third.

The FD is a great boat for bigger people to sail and so presents opportunities for crews who are out growing or even slowing down ie skiff or 49er sailors who seek a fast high performance boat but perhaps not so demanding of reactions.

The other aspect is that modern carbon rigs can be sailed well in most conditions with average sized crews you don't have to be huge to have fun sailing an FD these days; some of the more competitive crews that sail the boat have a skipper that is 75kgs-90kgs+ and a crew that is 80kgs-90kgs.

Those inteDrested or who always wanted to sail an FD should come and have a trial. Most of the helms are experienced in either FD or other classes so the ability to assist and train crew is available, plus the support from existing crews locally and globally.
