12:07 AM Tue 28 Oct 2008 GMT Despite harsh international economic conditions, the world's largest boat show is about to kick off! Ginn sur Mer presents the 49th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The show will take place Thursday 30 October to Monday 3 November 2008.
The show spans six locations: * Bahia Mar Yachting Center * Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center * Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club * Hyatt Pier 66 Hotel & Marina * Hall of Fame Marina * Las Olas Marina
The show will feature more than US$3bn worth of boats, yachts, superyachts, electronics, engines and thousands of accessories from every major marine manufacturer and builder worldwide.
The Boat Show encompasses more than 3 million square feet of space, both on land and in water, at six sites, all connected by the Show's Transportation Network of water taxis, riverboats and bus shuttles.
Boats from every major manufacturer worldwide including runabouts, sportfishers, high performance boats, center consoles, cabin cruisers, express cruisers, sailing yachts, motor yachts, bowriders, catamarans, ski boats, jet boats, trawlers, inflatables, canoes, and extraordinary superyachts.
Just 55 miles from South Florida, the West End of Grand Bahama Island will be home to a $4.9 billion community developed by Ginn Resorts and known as Ginn sur Mer. Situated on miles of pristine oceanfront property, Ginn sur Mer comprises world-class amenities including two signature golf courses designed by legends Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, two marinas, a private airport, a casino, water and swim pavilions, a beach club and spa.
