Sail-World's Ben Gladwell stepped off the foredeck of one of the IRC Class Zero racers at Cowes, after the conclusion of racing for the day at Cowes Week, and onto a RIB to provide this gallery of images from the Extreme 40 racing.

Racing was called off on the opening day of the Extreme Sailing Series at Cowes because of strong winds, but not before there was some serious action. Racing was conducted under reduced rigs.
