'Emirates Team NZ sail their new Cookson built TP52' Chris Cameron/ETNZ

Emirates Team NZ yesterday sailed their new TP52 built by Cookson Boatsand delivered to the Emirates Team NZ base on Monday.

The first sail was conducted ahead of a strong wind forecast for Friday and was a test of the boats sails, supplied by North Sails NZand spars and rigging from Southern Spars

Sail-World understands that full sea trialling and workup will begin in earnest in early March before Emirates Team NZ is shipped to Europe for the 2009 MedCup circuit.

Cookson Boats have two more race yachts underway at 52ft and 80ft in the North Shore yard.
